How do I join HBDA and how much does it cost??

All dance students are required to be members of HBDA.  Membership fees are $20 per year ($15 if joining in the fourth quarter of the fiscal year, which is from January through March).  All memberships expire on March 31.

Class fees are $40 per quarter, per student, and include two separate classes (different dances) per session.  There are eight sessions per quarter.

For example, a new student wants to become a member of the Studio Chapter in April that is offering Tango and Rumba. This student needs to show up at the Studio Chapter location on either the first or second week of the quarter.  Fees due are:

  • Membership fee of $20
  • $40 for each student and entitles that student to take both Tango and Rumba
  • for a total of $60.
When is open registration for classes??

Registration for classes are during the first two weeks of January, April, July and October.

What dance classes are currently being offered??

Each quarter dance classes offered are rotated only at the Dance Studio.  You can see each chapter’s current schedule by visiting their individual page.  International style classes are currently on hold until further notice.

What types of dances does HBDA offer??

HBDA offers classes in both American Social and International styles.  Please visit individual chapters for types of dances offered.

Note: Only the Dance Studio Wednesday class offers international style, however, it is temporarily suspended and replaced with American social until further notice.

What is the experience level of our instructors??

All dance classes are taught by trained volunteer Telemark instructors who have many years of experience.

What should I wear to dance class??

Please wear proper attire to dance class. No shorts or tank tops. Dance shoes, leather or hard soled. No rubber shoes, sandals or slippers.
